Classroom Training in Preparation for Nationally Accredited Food Safety Certification Exams



Regularly Scheduled, Public Food Safety Courses & Certification Exams

ORS Interactive’s Food Safety Course & Certification Exam (available in English and Spanish) is a one day, 8-hour food safety course & nationally accredited food safety certification exam designed to prepare learners to meet food safety certification requirements for local and national health departments, and to prepare them to take and pass the Standard Food Safety Manager’s Exam.
ORS Interactive provides regularly scheduled, public Food Safety Courses & Certification Exams in our Training & Testing Center near Seven Corners in Falls Church, Virginia. The ServSafe Food Manager’s Exam is included in the class price, and can be taken immediately following the training, at approximately 3 p.m.

    Exam Results are available immediately for individuals who take a computerized certification exam in the ORS Testing Center (paper exams are available, but must be requested at least two weeks in advance, with results available in approximately two weeks).
    Upon successfully passing, participants receive a ServSafe Food Safety Manager's certificate which is recognized and accepted across the United States (including Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland, as well as other jurisdictions across the country and even internationally). They will also receive the Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager's ID card (a $30 value, FREE!)
    All classes run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (including a 45-minute lunch break), and a nationally accredited ServSafe Professional Food Safety Manager’s Exam is administered immediately after the conclusion of the course. The exam may take as long as two hours to complete, so students should plan to be on-site from 9 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m.

ORS Interactive’s Food Safety Course & Certification Exam is highly recommended for all food service owners, managers, chefs, food and beverage managers, supervisors and anyone else with responsibility for ensuring food safety. ORS Interactive’s Food Safety Course & Certification Exam is part of a comprehensive effort to improve safe food handling practices and lower risk at their respective operations.Registration Fee for advance registration and payment in advance is $160. Space cannot be guaranteed if you do not register in advance.
Note: There is a 10% discount if 3 or more people from the same company / organization attend the same class together.

Please bring 2 forms of valid, government-issued photo I.D. on the day of the course.
Some students may additionally wish to purchase the Servsafe Food Manager’s Textbook, 7th Edition (pictured, left), prior to class. It is not necessary for the class (the instructor will cover all necessary content) but many students find it helpful to study independently before the class, or to keep a physical copy of the material after the class. If you wish to purchase the textbook, you can do so at our office for $55, (or $195 with the class, a savings of $20!). Private, On-Site Food Safety Courses & Certification Exams

ORS Interactive also delivers private On-Site Food Safety Courses & Certification Exams (available in English and Spanish) at your restaurant, food service operation, hotel or another facility (as few as 6 students are required). Additionally, the content of the course can be adapted or customized to meet the specific needs of a particular company or organization. The course runs for a total of 8 hours, including the exam.     Organizations sometimes partner with other operators or even a group of operators in coordinating delivery of On-Site Food Safety Courses & Certification Exams. It is preferable to conduct On-Site courses in a suitable training facility or meeting room. Basic requirements for On-Site courses includes: a suitable space for the delivery of the course and exam that is appropriate in size for the number of people to be trained and conductive to a distraction-free learning environment. This space must include an audio-visual setup with a HDMI input, and an adequate area for testing.
