Get Certified in Food Safety Management & Get Your Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager (NVCFM) Certificate in One Day!
The Code of the County of Fairfax, Virginia requires all food establishments operating within the County to be under the immediate control of a Certified Food Manager during all hours of operation. Limited food establishments (those which typically serve hotdogs or frankfurter-type foods, prepackaged foods or other types of food that are not potentially hazardous) must be under the immediate control of, at a minimum, a Certified Limited Food Manager during all hours of operation. Arlington County, Virginia and the City of Alexandria, Virginia have similar codes in place. The ultimate objective is to improve the health and well-being of the general public and provide additional protection against outbreaks of foodborne illness and other afflictions/health conditions directly related to food safety and sanitation.
ORS Interactive, Inc. in Falls Church, VA, issues the NVCFM Certificate through a cooperative agreement with Fairfax County, City of Fairfax, City of Falls Church, Town of Vienna, Town of Herndon, Town of Clifton, City of Alexandria and Arlington County. The cost for a Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager (NVCFM) Certificate is $45 and the certificate is valid for 5 years from the date that certification for an approved Certified Food Manager Exam is issued.
ORS Interactive, Inc. also administers approved Certified Food Manager Exams from National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP), ServSafe and Prometric and provides proctored testing services and immediate results for English, Chinese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish exams taken on a computer. Results taken with paper and pencil exams (this option is available for all exams but is currently required for Vietnamese, Arabic and French) typically arrive within 7 to 10 days after the exam is administered.
The cost for each approved Food Safety Manager Exam is $48 and includes required test proctoring services. No reservations or appointments are required (no need to worry about missed exam appointments or fees for cancelling or changing exam appointments) as they are with other test providers / administrators. The cost for the Limited Food Safety Manager exam is $15 for the exam and test proctoring services. The Limited Food Safety Manager exam is only available through ORS Interactive, Inc.
Walk-in service is provided on Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm for issuance of the NVCFM Certificate (all test administration must begin before 3 pm) and on Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm for issuance of the NVCFM Certificate (all test administration must begin before 11 am).
