The Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager (NVCFM) Photo ID Card (also known as the Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager Certificate) is a photo ID issued by ORS Interactive which certifies that the holder has taken and passed a recognized Food Protection Manager’s Exam. It is recognized by Health Departments in Fairfax County, Arlington County, City of Alexandria, and other entities.

To acquire a Northern Virginia Certified Food Manager (NVCFM) Card:
1: First, it is necessary to take and pass an approved Certified Food Protection Manager’s Exam in a proctored testing environment. ORS Interactive offers the Servsafe food manager test for $109 (which includes the NVCFM card for FREE upon passing -- see here for details), although valid food manager certificates from Prometric, NRFSP, StateFoodSafety.com AAA Food Safety, The Always Safe Company, and 360Training are also recognized.
2: If you tested at any other location than ORS Interactive, and have passed a recognized and approved certified food safety manager’s exam, you must bring your valid, original certificate into the ORS Interactive office, along with a valid, government-issued photo ID, and $40 (cash, credit card, and company check accepted). This can be done on a walk-in basis anytime the office is open.

3: Once you have brought the necessary materials, ORS Interactive will take your picture and issue your card immediately. Your card will be valid for five years from the date you passed the certified food managers exam.
